Do you sometimes find yourself portraying familiar stereotypes on stage — consciously or unconsciously? Have you ever played what’s expected of you, rather than what you truly intended to express?
Join us for an engaging session where we unravel the art of mindful character portrayal. Discover how we can move beyond stereotypes to create richer, more nuanced representations. Unstereotype is a jam where we focus on exploring character depth and celebrating the many shades of human experience.
With 25 years in the performing arts, Chitra’s journey began at a theatre camp for teens, and there's been no looking back! A founder member of No Pressure Improv, she also collaborates with theatre groups like Bangalore Little Theatre and has been a member of the Federation of Asian Storytellers.
Chitra's impact goes beyond the stage. As a seasoned learning and development expert with two decades of experience, she’s worked with MNCs, non-profits, and small businesses – helping teams communicate and collaborate better through applied improv. Trained by the International Coaching Federation, she also coaches individuals to help them get more confident with their communication skills and career plans.
When she’s not running workshops or improv jams, Chitra loves to indulge her inner pop culture nerd. She’ll sing you a song and give you the song's backstory! Plus, she’s an avid forwarded of cat videos, because, why not?
This jam is recommended for improvisers with at least 1 year of experience.
