ARCHITECTURE OF THE SCENE
ARCHITECTURE OF THE SCENE
In improv scenes, a simple physical gesture of where you stand, which way you face, or the posture you hold may already contain enough inspiration for your story to take off.
ARCHITECTURE OF THE SCENE is one of The Improv Hub's level 2 courses (skill-specific). It's about unlocking creativity through body language and the use of stage space. You will practice observing, sensing, and developing characters, relationships, and circumstances based on your physical position, movement, and interactions with your scene partners.
What will you explore in this course?
Physicality as Storytelling: Sharpen your sensitivity to your own and others’ body language, and use posture, gesture, and presence to create characters and emotions that feel alive.
Composing the Stage Picture: Discover how position, gaze, and distance between characters can shape relationships and storytelling without over-relying on dialogue.
Objects and Environments: Animate invisible worlds with clarity and detail, grounding scenes with depth in believable spaces.
★★ This course is suitable for those who have completed at least the basic level of improv. English is the main language to be used for instruction and discussion in class.
