WHAT IS IMPROV?

Improvisational theatre, or improv, is the art of creating something from nothing. It’s a dynamic and unscripted form of live performance where actors connect with their creativity, their teammates, and their audience to build stories, characters, and moments entirely in the moment. Improv isn’t about memorizing lines or following rigid rules, it’s about embracing spontaneity, listening deeply, and saying “yes” to new possibilities.

But here’s the magic: improv isn’t just for the stage. It’s a skill that enriches your daily life. Whether you want to communicate better, think on your feet, spark your creativity, or simply laugh and have fun, improv will transform the way you see and interact with the world around you.

ABOUT IMPROV 101

This course is an introduction to a mindset, a way of thinking and living that empowers you to trust yourself and collaborate effortlessly with those around you. You will explore:

• The Fundamentals of Improv: What makes a scene work? You’ll discover how to build a story from scratch, find your confidence, and unlock the power of collaboration.

• How to Say “Yes, And”: The golden rule of improv is about embracing ideas, your own and others’. Through fun exercises, you’ll practice listening, supporting, and adding value to every moment.

• Creating from Impulse: You’ll explore how to trust your instincts, respond naturally, and let go of the fear of “getting it wrong.”

• Connecting and playing with joy: Rediscover your inner child and experience the pure delight of playing, laughing, and being fully present in the moment.
