OPEN CALL

With the theme CELEBRATIONS, we hope to make this festival a celebration of things we have felt and experienced on our improv journeys, with shows, workshops, jams, and panel discussions.

SHOWS

Bring to this festival the performances that showcase the creativity, diversity, and playful artistry of improv. We're open to all forms—whether it’s a series of short-form games, narrative long-form, musical improv, or something completely original. 

You can apply as an established group or simply submit the show idea you want to direct with an international mix of improvisers.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops at VIF25 are to offer participants a chance to learn new skills, explore new concepts & formats, and celebrate interpersonal connections. We’re seeking workshop proposals that will favor improvisers of all backgrounds. 

Our standard duration for each workshop session is 3 hours. Your workshop can be a one-off, an intensive series of multiple sessions, or production-based ensemble workshops that lead to a showcase to be performed at the festival.

JAMS

This year, we’re celebrating the boundless possibilities of improv, and that means opening up the floor for fresh, dynamic jam ideas! We’re calling improv creatives to bring their dream jams to life. If you have a concept that invites participants to play, explore, or interact in new and exciting ways, we want to hear it!

It can be a genre-themed jam or a unique format that gets people connecting and experimenting. We’re looking for jams that surprise, spark laughter, and, most importantly, celebrate the heart of improv. 

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

Panel discussions are something we're newly experimenting with at our festival! If you have a unique perspective on improv techniques or its impact—arts, education, wellness, or community-building—bring it to the table and lead a conversation that celebrates improv’s transformative power.
