David is a Colombia-based actor, director, and teacher. As co-founder of Improvisual, he has performed, directed ensembles, and led workshops at festivals and theatres across Colombia, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Germany, and Canada.
He has directed the plays Goodbye (2023), Soundpainting Improvisual (2023), La Liga (2023), and more than ten other theatrical productions. His work includes audiovisual and acting in films, as well as television series and stage productions.
Since 2017, he has served as a lecturer in the Performing Arts Department at Javeriana University in Bogotá. And since 2013, he has taught at his school of Improvisual.
He holds two diplomas in theatrical improvisation from Universidad El Bosque, and further specialized in improvisational technique through studies with Keith Johnstone and at Loose Moose Theatre (Canada). He has continued his training with teachers such as Patti Stiles and Shawn Kinley.
He holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Theatre Studies with an emphasis on directing from the International University of La Rioja (2017) and a degree in Social Communication with a focus on audiovisual production from Javeriana University.
He has also taught in the International Diploma in Theatre Improvisation at Universidad El Bosque, hosted several TEDx events in Bogotá, and works as an instructor and facilitator in creativity, storytelling, and soft skills programs through Improvisual.
